About
The Martin Acadian Homestead is an Acadian Heritage site. The site is also a registered historic landmark registered in 2009 with the National Park Service. construction begain in 1823 and continued to grow until the 1860s. The Martin family owned a couple hundred acres of land surrounding the site. they also owned three mills across the Saint John Valley. A major part to shaping the area and making Madawaska what it is today.
